Day 41










Weight- 306lbs




Today marks the my half way point of my first challenge. Man that went by fast! So far I have lost 24lbs scale weight if I can produce the same results in the second half of the challenge I am in for some really good numbers. I had a good workout this morning on the treadmill. My brother stopped by after I was done to hang and out and play the basketball game later, but first we met our Mom at the Nebraska Furniture Mart to help her pick out an Ipod. Next weekend I am going home for my parents birthday (They were both born on April 10th) We are going to celebrate it a week early because they will be visiting a friend in Washington. So I am sure while I am back home I will help her get it set up on the computer and teach her all about I-tunes so she can be the hip teacher at school.

Around 1pm we met down at Creighton's Kewitt fitness center for the game. Unfortunately my brother and I lost 11-8, maybe I was a little over confident with my post yesterday. I could not hit a mid range jumper to save my life. It was a back and forth battle the score was 9-8 and Jeremiah hit a three to win it (in pick up games a three is usually worth two for anyone who might think my math is a little off) The funny thing about it is when the score was tied at two a piece they asked what we were going to I said 21 and they both were like, no way I won't make it! I laughed later thinking how ironic that was. After our game was over we played a couple of games of four on four with some college kids. I was beat after all that cardio! It was fun though and good for me I'm sure. Well onward to free day and the second half of my first 12 week challenge!

Day 40

My day started out with a decent workout but nothing to write home about. I have been using the smith machine that has a slight incline for my squats and decided to use the one that was straight up and down today. Both machines have balancing cables but on this one the weight felt a lot lighter, so my quads didn't get hit quite as hard as the last couple times I have done this workout. The rest of my workout went really well. I killed my abs which is great. Unfortunately my left knee has been sore all day, it starting to feel a little better though. My right knee is the bad one and my left knee seems to over compensate for the right one. So I think I am going back to the smith machine with the incline from now on. The main reason I switched was I do front squats or what ever you want to call them on my super set and it wasn't working as well on the incline one. Live and learn I guess.
Tomorrow may be a day that will live in infamy, a battle on the basketball courts. Two of my friends are going to take on my brother and I. I think they think they are in for a pretty easy match since both my brother and myself are built more like linemen then point guards, little do they know we can ball. We have the height advantage they have the quickness, but I have seen them both play and I think we can edge them out on shooting. Jeremiah if you are reading this, your going down tomorrow!!! I will post the score(s) tomorrow win or loose but my guess is Jimmy and Craig 21 Jeremiah and Ryan 17. We will see...

Day 39

Today started off with a good workout on the treadmill. After that it was pretty uneventfully I went to work at 12 and got off at 9. That was my day in a nutshell. I have tomorrow and have a lot of things that need to get done. My focus is to get all 6 meals in and I will. Weight wise I have had a great week and hope to continue to finish the week by losing a couple more pounds. If I don't I am already ahead of the game so I am fine with that.

Day 38

I thought I would get up early and do my workout, but my body did not want to get out of bed so I saved my workout for after work. My day started off with a bang When I clocked in at work a lady that works in customer service asked me I had been loosing some weight. I said yeah. She asked if I was trying to loose weight. I told her yes, as I was thinking if you only new how much lol. Then I walked into my department and was greeted by another compliment, probably the funniest I have had yet. One of my good friends in my department said my head was starting to look skinny. What a way to start the day.




After work I went to the gym. I weighed myself and headed over to the incline bench opened up my book and realized I had copied the wrong weights into my new excel file. So I had to kind of wing the first two lifts because the weights were way off. They ended up OK, but my time spent on the assisted dips and pull up machine was great. My new workouts put me near a clock so I am able to time my minute rests between lifts and get a better overall burn. This week is the first week where I am starting to feel more healthy I have a lot more energy and feel really good after my lifting workouts.




This week I finally got my admissions to Bellevue University pretty much wrapped up which is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. (no pun intended) I stopped by the satellite location near my house and spoke with one of the admissions councilors there and he kind of sped up the process. I got an email today saying I was admitted and later in this week or early next week I should hear from financial aid. This is the first time I am really excited for classes to begin because I know there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel, small as it may be there is a light!

Day 37

Today was good, work it went by fast which is always nice, I ate well and had a good workout. I am really liking using that incline treadmill. I feel like I am getting off easy but know it is working so I will continue to use it. Tomorrow I am going to get up early to do my upper body workout so I can play some basketball after work it is supposed to be in the 70's so I need to get out and enjoy it because the rest of the week looks to be rainy. Well, I better go pack my lunch and then head to bed.

Day 36








Weight- 315lbs

I had a good start to week 6 today all of my meals were well rounded and had a really intense workout. My weight now is running like clock work. Before I went to the gym I guessed my weight at 315lbs and was right on. It seems that whatever my weight is on Saturday Monday I am up 5lbs, and by Saturday I see a loss. My leg workout is going really well it is the hardest workout upper or lower body I have ever done! I was out of breath for a minute after my after my second super set. I couldn't do my new ab routine today, so I adjusted it a little. I was supposed to do decline sit ups w/ a twist and couldn't even get through the first set because my abs were so sore. I think it might be from the stability ball I bought last week. I have been sitting on it sometimes when I am on the computer. I have also been trying to sit on it without my feet touching the floor just kind of messing around more then anything. I think that has to be what caused me to be so sore today because my last real ab work out was Wednesday. So I did the weighted torso twist machine with and ab roller supper set. It was kind of funny while I was doing the torso twists Eye of the Tiger came on on my Ipod. I almost started laughing thinking how funny it would have been if Rocky would have been using that machine during one of his fight training montage's.

Something I didn't really mention in my last few posts was that people are starting to see the difference in my weight loss. One of the managers that I don't see to often at work kind of gave me a double take and asked if I had lost some weight. I told him that I had. He said he didn't recognize me at first. I also had multiple compliments from some of my friends this weekend which was nice as well. It's nice to see the hard work starting to pay off. Gives me a little added motivation to work even harder this week.

Day 35

Today went by pretty fast on the bright side I think this is the first day after St. Patrick's day I didn't have a headache, which was kind of nice. I ate well today except the last two meals I split my Chinese food into two meals. It's nice that I have gotten to the point where I can't even eat a whole meal from a restaurant in one sitting. Looking forward to week six can't believe I am almost half way done with my first challenge!
